Description
A single varietal wine made from Nielluccio (the Corsican name for Sangiovese) planted by Hubert Joyeux’s father, following a visit to Italy. This is a succulent wine with incredible energy and a discreet and well-balanced tannic structure. Perfect for enjoying with a generous plate of charcuterie and cheese.
Cépage
100% Nielluccio (Sangiovese)
Hand-harvested into small creates at the middle of september.
Terroir
The Nielluccio vines are planted on the terraces of the Orbieu, one of the rivers that run across our estate. The soils are loose with a high clay content on the surface, and gravelly at depth on a bedrock of limestone
Winemaking
The grapes are picked by hand in mid-September at perfect maturity, then placed directly in a cooled stainless-steel vat in whole bunches (including the stems). They are left to macerate to induce fermentation inside the berries, and the juice is rapidly run off. Following alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation is allowed to take place spontaneously.

Tasting Note
Luminous ruby red. The nose is intensely fragrant with aromas of small red berry fruit. In the mouth it is full and round with a well-balanced structure and silky tannins.
