Grape variety

45% Grenache (old vines), 40% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre.

Terroir

The vines are located on the medium and high terraces of the Orbieu river : 50 meters high. This sandy and clay deep soil is well drained by limestone pebbles.

wine elaboration

The different grape varieties are harvested when completely ripe, destemmed and sorted before being put in the tanks. Daily pumping takes place before and at the beginning of fermentation. During fermentation, a gentle extraction is made through pigeage and temperature control (22°C). Vatting time lasts 10 days then the grapes are extracted from the tanks and poured into the press to avoid any mechanical crushing. Ageing takes place in tanks for one year.

Wine tasting

The wine has a nice and shining ruby colour. The nose is rich, very fruity (strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant) and powerful with notes of coffee, mocha, grey pepper and cinnamon. The mouth is structured, generous and pure with melted tannins.
